About the Alliance
The Indian Alliance for Public Health Preparedness is India’s first, multi-sectoral collaboration that provides a platform of diverse stakeholders for advocacy, research and knowledge sharing for environmental surveillance as a tool for public health preparedness.
By centering health equity in urban cities, the Alliance aims to bring the discourse and effectiveness of environmental surveillance to the state and national level public health system for evidence-based decision-making. The Alliance builds on efforts in Environmental surveillance in relation to pathogenic infectious diseases, illicit opioid use, antimicrobial resistance and the role of open-source data.
The Alliance is currently anchored by Precision Health Platform, an environmental surveillance platform that aims to promote systematic wastewater surveillance and other environmental surveillance tools for early detection and prevention of disease outbreaks. It is facilitated by Quicksand, a design research and innovation consultancy based in India. with the support of Skoll Foundation and Crypto Relief Fund.
